Respirator fit testing ensures a secure mask fit, reducing the risk of inhaling workplace contaminants. What's more, it is required by OSHA. We provide convenient, on-site or in-clinic scheduling to keep your workforce compliant and safe.
Employees in hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes who may be exposed to airborne hazards while providing care.
Restoration professionals performing mold remediation, water damage restoration, and fire damage cleanup.
Industrial workers in manufacturing and production settings with potential exposure to airborne contaminants, fumes, and hazardous particles.
Construction workers exposed to airborne hazards such as dust, silica, and debris.
Workers using spray paints or similar materials, including car painters and countertop makers, where airborne particles are present.
Oil and gas workers exposed to hazardous gases, fumes, and airborne hazards.
We help employers save time and money with flexible scheduling for Qualitative (QLFT) and Quantitative (QNFT) Respirator Fit Testing, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), basic heart and lung evaluations, and OSHA-required Medical Evaluation Questionnaires (MEQ).
Typically used for half-face mask and filtering facepieces (disposable masks like N95). Testing relies on the subjective response to detect Saccharin (sweet tasting agent), Bitrex (bitter tasting agent) or Irritant smoke (when detected, causes coughing).â
Typically used for full-facepiece respirators or any type of tight-fitting respirator where a high level of protection is necessary. The test is performed by using a PortaCount or a QuantiFit2 device, providing precise, measurable data on whether a respirator properly seals to the wearerâs face.
If the person being tested cannot detect either Saccharin or Bitrex, he/she will need to have an N95 Quantitative Fit Test (QNFT)
Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) fit testing is required for workers in hazardous environments, such as firefighters, industrial workers, and emergency responders.
The MEQ is a mandatory health screening used to determine whether an employee is medically cleared to safely wear a respirator, and it must be reviewed by a licensed health care professional.
Performed by NIOSH-certified techs, this testing (also known as Spirometry) may be required before an employee can safely use a respirator if the MEQ indicates lung or breathing concerns.
If the MEQ identifies potential health issues, a follow-up medical examination may be needed to establish cardiovascular and respiratory health.
Say goodbye to the hassles of sending employees off-site for testing. With our on-site services, we bring the testing directly to your workplace. This not only saves valuable time but also minimizes disruptions to your daily operations.
We recognize that the traditional 9-to-5 schedule may not suit every business. Our after-hours testing services provide flexibility, allowing you to schedule tests at times that are convenient for you and your employees.
We are committed to arriving on time and being fully prepared for the task at hand. We are dedicated to delivering excellent and reliable service, consistently.
Each employee must undergo a medical evaluation by a licensed healthcare professional to determine their ability to use a respirator. The medical evaluation questionnaire (MEQ) will be reviewed to determine if further testing is needed before fit testing.
QLFT: The wearer detects Saccharin (sweet) or Bitrex (bitter) to confirm the mask seal.
QNFT: The PortaCountŸ measures particle levels inside and outside the mask to calculate a precise fit factor.
Examinees who pass receive a wallet-sized ID card (valid one year) listing the respirator make, model, and size, along with paper and electronic documentation. Please note that the exact make, size and style respirator that you wore to pass the test should be worn while on the job.
